I arrived at The Blake House September 1st of 2021. While The Blake House is known primarily for helping Men with substance abuse issues, I was dealing with mental health struggles. I had been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for over 2 years and had been prescribed countless meds for depression and anxiety. Nothing helped and I spiraled further and further into hopelessness. I quickly became suicidal as death seemed like the only way to escape the darkness I was submerged in. I eventually found myself walking into The Blake House completely convinced that I was wasting my time. I had no relationship with God and honestly did not believe he could restore me. I began to seek him from a place of utter desperation and was amazed at the changes that I began to notice. My new found connection with the Lord along with the classes at The Blake House helped me find purpose, which was missing all along. I completed the program and then stayed for a 10 month internship. I am now the intake coordinator helping other men experience the same Godly love that saved my life.
