As part of the editorial team, through editing, reviewing and writing I support the development of web-based educational material, such as articles, guides, factsheets and e-learning courses for healthcare professionals. Working with subject-matter experts, I review, write and edit textual content for online articles, courses and social media.Along with writing and editing content for the 2023 International Genomics Education and Training Summit print brochure, I researched and authored a long-form article on international healthcare systems and presentation slides for speakers.

My role included sub-editing, authoring and uploading summaries and content regarding finance regulation and compliance for the Thomson Reuters Regulatory Intelligence databases. As part of Thomson Reuters content automation drive, I built data-scraping agents to monitor external websites for relevant content to deliver alerts to clients. I managed a team to ensure the migration of this automated content process from an old system to a more holistic platform.I delivered training to colleagues on data-scraping software to increase the automation of content sourcing, as well as in-depth training on the writing and publishing of summaries for different regions to new starters to the team.

Planned content and managed the flatplan for the quarterly print magazine. Subedited copy and amended print proofs using InDesign. Liaised with agents and PR companies via email and telephone to arrange interviews and assets for the magazine and website.

My role as Editor involved editing 11 print issues per year, with an estimated readership of 50,000 per issue. I was responsible for commissioning articles, illustrations and photographs for the magazine and website; sub-editing and proofreading online and print articles; and liaising with the Sales and Marketing team about advertising and advert-related content. I managed two junior editorial staff and two designers on a day-to-day basis and a team of volunteer section editors to produce content for the website and magazine. The editorial team also engaged readers with weekly newsletters; increasing social media presence and online community. During my time at LeftLion, in addition to the regular magazine, I edited and produced an annual Student Guide commissioned by Nottingham Trent University, the University of Nottingham and Nottingham City Council as part of this role that was distributed on both university campuses.
