As a college instructor, I design and update course materials to cover the 9 essential skills for the workplace, create and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to highly barriered individuals, and adjust teaching methods to meet diverse student needs. I provide constructive feedback, offer additional support, and work with other instructors and community organizations to provide a holistic learning experience. Acting as a mentor, I guide and encourage students to overcome employment barriers, maintain a positive classroom environment, and provide practical advice on job search strategies, resumes, cover letters, interview techniques, and presentation skills.

The IBEW37 Training Trust Fund was awarded the Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) Award of Excellence for Innovation in HR Practices for anEducational / Training Institution (2018). I was instrumental in helping achieve that award for the organization. Through the Student Accessibility Centre at UNB, I worked one-on-one to coach students in university programs by working on time management, problem solving, adaptability, advocacy, and communication skills.

In this role, I facilitated parent and youth sessions for the Strengthening Families program, an evidence-based family skills training program.

As an adult educator specializing in instructing clients on the nine essential skills for success, my duties were pivotal in fostering students professional growth and success in the workplace for unemployed and underemployed individuals with high barriers to employment.
