My interest in financial markets started with trading equities on the Egyptian Stock Exchange at age 16. While studying Finance at AUC I did an internship on HSBC Dubai’s FX trading desk where I got an offer to join the Global Markets Graduate Program after finishing university. During HSBC’s program I traded FX and Interest Rate Derivates at HSBC Dubai and London. Upon completion of the program I was offered a permanent position as a Credit Trader where I traded MENA Bonds and Credit Default Swaps. After two years at HSBC I decided to move back to Cairo and go down the entrepreneurial route. I founded KAPITALIZE in 2013, a company that manages Serviced Offices and Residences in East Cairo. In the past 5 years KAPITALIZE has developed a reputation of excellence and dependability with tenants such as Nestle, ENI, P&G, Decathlon, ADM, Oberoi Hotels and more.In 2017, I Co-Founded Trukto Technologies, one of the first trucking platforms in the MENA region. Trukto has rapidly grown from an idea into a network of over 8,000 trucks catering to a diverse portfolio of shippers across the agriculture, consumer goods, cement and logistics sectors. In November, 2019, Trukto was acquired by local rival Trella to create Egypt’s largest technology enabled trucking and logistics platform. In conjunction with the acquisition, I joined Trella as Head of Ports to launch and grow Trella’s platform across Egypt’s ports.With a passion for business and a keen interest to learn new things I've also been involved in a variety of business projects on an advisory basis.
