Hi, I'm Ali! I'm the People Operations Manager for 6AM City, a newsletter-first media company in 23 cities across the United States. My role incorporates training and development, mentorship and one-on-one coaching, company culture, compliance, talent and hiring, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, and employee engagement and experience. I run the company's DEI Working Group, which advises leadership on diversity, equity, and inclusion recommendations in the areas of Content, Hiring, and Culture. I am also head of the Parent Resource Group and the company's CLTR Committee, a diverse group of team members who constantly innovate to keep our remote company culture strong and connected.I am also the co-founder and Chief Communications Officer of Appalachian Psychedelic Society. Our mission is to serve as a community connector, resource hub, event producer, and trusted source for psychedelic information and news. Rooted in our Appalachian heritage, we recognize the significance of grassroots relationships in reshaping our region and empowering our people. We cultivate grassroots community united by informed perspectives and empowered education. I have been studying the Enneagram for a decade as a system for self-growth and awakening. In 2020, I became an International Enneagram Association Accredited Professional. I am the Co-Director of the Enneagram School of Awakening, based in Asheville, NC. I currently offer one-on-one, couple's, and business coaching in this unique and dynamic system of self-growth. I also teach workshops and courses on the Enneagram and creative writing. I am also a member of the Chacruna Chronicles editorial team. Chacruna Institute for Psychedelic Plant Medicines promotes reciprocity in the psychedelic community, supports the protection of sacred plants and cultural traditions, and advances psychedelic justice through curating critical conversations and uplifting the voices of women, queer people, Indigenous peoples, people of color, and the Global South in the field of psychedelic science.I have a PhD in English, and am a creative writer, a world traveler, a lover of plant identification and wildcrafting, and an eternal student. I currently serve on Story Parlor's Story Board. I co-host a weekly radio variety talk show, Slumber Party, on Asheville FM (check it out on Wednesdays from 4-6 p.m.!). In my spare time, I am completing a post-apocalyptic SF novel about people turning into trees.
