I have 17 years of experience working with local authorities. I first started out working for Doncaster Council in 2007 as a safety warden working alongside the Police to reduce anti-social behaviour, ensure community safety amongst the most vulnerable residents, and promote community cohesion. I later became an area officer which encompassed environmental work, working with the contractors or the household waste removal, ensuring the collections were made and that residents were complying. In 2015 I became a Stronger Families Officer working at a light level with families that were not at the door of social care but moving in that direction, my role was to help them in several ways, find employment, engage the children back into attending school, offer support and guidance in situations of ASB and Domestic Abuse, signpost to other services that could be to help with health issues. During my time with DMBC, I was also part of a team that would work in emergencies like floods to help evacuate properties, and move residents back into their homes after evacuation situations. Supported families that have lost everything in house fires and supported Adult and Children's social care, provided help and support to the local traveling community. My previous role was with HMPS as a Prison Officer in a category A male prison. My role was to maintain discipline and prevent harm to one another or to one's self. I ran a wing with 4 officers and carried out the wing training once the new recruit was out of the class room.
