Secondment within Aon's M&A and Transaction Solutions (AMATS) team. Focusing on Risk and Insurance Due Diligence - helping to quantify quality of earnings and balance sheet decision points and retained and transferred risks, while also identifying go-forward options to understand and quantify the risks assumed as a deal is negotiated.  Aon’s M&A diligence professionals identify deficiencies and opportunities, and offer solutions that can affect deal terms, purchase price, and return on investment. We address situations ranging from uncovered emerging risks to appropriateness of collateral.

Axco researches and delivers specialist insurance market intelligence to the global insurance industry. As an Account Manager, I am in charge of an extensive portfolio of major insurers, brokers and reinsurers primarily situated in the EMEA region, with a focus on the French market. Internally, I am heavily involved in helping to define strategy and processes to ensure the company continues to advance according to the ever changing needs of this dynamic industry. Duties and responsibilities include:- Client Interaction: Frequent interaction with clients to gain an in-depth knowledge of their (re)insurance business and strategy to ensure that we, as a business, continue to match their needs; - Project Management: Structuring, implementing and managing long-term projects with clients in close collaboration with content researchers, product developers and I.T;- Contract Management: Negotiating, drafting and amending contract terms to ensure the commercial relationships incept / continue on a legally sound and commercially reasonable footing;- Business Strategy & Processes: As a manager in the Business Development team, I am expected to contribute to the formation of business strategies and processes;- Personal Development: Understanding the workings of the global corporate insurance industry is central to Axco’s business and, as such, I am continually developing my insurance knowledge through internal and external (CII) training, daily interaction with insurance professionals (clients and colleagues), and from the wealth of information at my disposal.

International Claims - worked on large group litigation on behalf of 30,000+ claimants in Ivory Coast, visiting the region on several occasions. Also investigated and worked on cases centred on crude oil damage in the Niger Delta, including travel to the affected region.Product Liability - assisted in bringing class actions against Pharmaceutical companies for defective drugs.Commercial Claims - assisted in business interruption cases surrounding the Buncefield Explosion in Hemel Hempstead in 2005.

Worked on several general crime cases (Crown Court), including GBH, Blackmail, Theft, Attempted Murder etc. Also worked on several Fraud cases defending against the SFO.
