The Creative Director of Comic Roots is a dynamic and visionary leader responsible for shaping and enhancing the organization's visual and educational identity. This role involves overseeing website design, branding, social media strategies, and developing innovative curricula for arts and outdoor education programs. The Creative Director will collaborate with various teams to ensure cohesive and impactful creative outputs that align with Comic Roots' mission and values.

-Provide art instruction and mentorship to support artists with disabilities’ development toward professional engagement in the arts.-Curate marketing flyers to promote events and art shows.-Curate posts for Imagine Art’s social media account.- Developing art activities and lesson plans that are engaging, accessible, and suitable for various skill levels and abilities.-Working closely with support staff, caregivers, and other professionals to provide comprehensive care and creative experiences.-Adapting lesson plans on the fly to accommodate changing needs and challenges.-Knowledge of adaptive art tools and techniques that can facilitate the artistic process for individuals with disabilities.-Utilizing strategies to handle challenging behaviors and create a calm and supportive atmosphere.-Promoting the importance of arts in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities and advocating for their inclusion in the broader community.-Documenting and assessing the artistic development of participants over time.-Respecting and acknowledging the diverse cultural backgrounds of individuals with intellectual disabilities in art programming.-Familiarity with legal and ethical guidelines related to the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities.-Helping individuals gain confidence and a sense of achievement through their creative endeavors.

-Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the department's goals and objectives.-Create compelling and visually appealing content, including text, images, videos, and graphics, for various social media platforms.-Plan and schedule social media posts to maintain a consistent and engaging online presence.-Actively engage with the audience by responding to comments, messages, and mentions, fostering a sense of community and addressing inquiries.-Plan and execute social media campaigns to promote departmental events, exhibitions, performances, and achievements.-Monitor and analyze social media metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies as needed for better results.-Stay up-to-date with social media trends, algorithms, and emerging platforms to ensure the department's presence remains innovative and relevant.-Coordinate with faculty, staff, students, and other university departments to gather content and share departmental updates.-Ensure that all social media content aligns with the department's visual branding and messaging guidelines.
