Operation Warp Speed, later renamed the HHSDOD COVID-19 Countermeasures Acceleration Group (CAG), was a collaboration between the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Defense (DOD), and the private sector to accelerate development, production, and distribution of effective vaccines and therapeutics to counter COVID-19 for the American people. The CAG was the nucleus of the "whole-of-America" effort to defeat COVID-19, and DOD's contribution was essential to the success of the CAG.• Reserve officer mobilized for federal active duty to lead Administration and Vaccine and Therapeutics Coordination Center to ensure efficient distribution and administration of product to 64 states, territories, and cities • Provided oversight, direction, guidance, and training to headquarters element and 10 regional teams consisting of over 35 personnel from DoD, CDC, ASPR, and contractors. • Worked closely with over 40 industry, pharmacy, contractor, and Federal agencies to enhance the overall effectiveness of the vaccine and therapeutics distribution and administration operations.• Conceived and led a joint effort with federal and state agencies to redistribute over 555,000 doses of unused vaccine saving the U.S. Government over $11.1M by preventing those doses from going to waste.• Created the Therapeutics Allocation Portal module within the Vaccine and Therapeutics SaaS platform defining the process, platform, user interface, and data flow for this software application that facilitated the rollout of the partnership between jurisdictions and federal retail pharmacy therapeutics program partners. • Delivered over 700 million doses of vaccine to fully vaccinate 75% of US adults and delivered over 7 million courses of life-saving therapeutics, to more than 250 million Americans during my tenure.
