About Ali Taylor

My career in advertising spans over twenty years, during that time I have won national and international creative awards in almost every medium. I continue to copywrite for agencies and clients direct. I also write drama and comedy for TV and radio. My original continuing drama 'the hotel at the end of the world' has been optioned by MTP and my screenplay 'My Boy' has won me a place on this year's Young Films Foundation. I have had a sitcom pilot and two radio dramas commissioned and aired by the BBC with a third in development. I was a Casualty Shadow Writer in 2018/19 and have been a finalist, twice, for the BBC Writer's Prize for drama. I'm delighted to be on this year's BFI x BAFTA Crew scheme.

    MTP have optioned my pilot for my original drama series 'the hotel at the end of the world'. Set in Harris, in a near future where Scotland have passed the Assisted Dying (Scotland) Act 2022, two married women run The Last Resort; a boutique hotel where the terminally ill can choose their own checkout time. It made it to the final 21 of C21's International Drama Screeenwriting Competition and is currently in development with MTP.
