Design and development of automotive heat exchangers including Water Charge Air Coolers(wCACs) and Exhaust Gas Heat Recovery(EGHR) Systems.At my role includes:- Working in collaboration with the OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to conceptualize a heat exchanger design.- Focusing on customer needs and requirements in developing a reliable design while getting assistance from the CAE team for FEA and CFD analysis as well as hand calculations.- Paying particular attention to core engineering in heat exchanger design and testing. - Spearheading the project while working in a multi disciplinary team such as manufacturing, quality, prototype and purchasing to ensure a successful product launch.- Following the APQP process, which include focus on DFMEA, DV + PVP&R, GD&T, prototype and production tooling buy-off, during Design Verification and Process Validation stage to ensure the product meets and exceeds all the design targets and customer needs and requirements.- Employing excellent trouble shooting and analytical skills while using a hands-on approach.

While working as an Project Engineering Intern at Magna Closures Primary Latch group, I have been involved in the design, testing and launch phase of a specific Side Door Latch(SDL). Some of key responsibilities include:- Compiling and reviewing sub-assembly tolerance stack-up to evaluate any clearance/interference between the components of a latch.- Performing 1st Order Finite Element Analysis(FEA) on components or sub-assemblies to determine the stress level, the resultant forces or the location of highest stress to aid latch design.- Evaluating FEA results and drawing conclusions and presenting it to the team of engineers.- Assisting the lead and the design engineer in component design while performing analytical studies.- Reviewing and/or marking up component and assembly drawing prints for production/NOC(Notice Of Change)- Reviewing and editing BOMs and change history updates.- Evaluating SRCDs ( Supplier Request for Change and Deviation) and performing Risk Assessment studies- Testing latch samples for effort and travel, compiling results and presenting any potential issue to the management, along with the recommendations to improve the current process/design- Building prototypes to test the latest design change for any expected improvement
