CEO: Ali True Smith is the key component of the True Balance Studio “Exercise Smart” initiative, bringing results without the injury to her clients.Ali began her career as an All-American lacrosse goalie. While she has had extensive training in fitness from the athlete’s perspective, True also is an educated authority on the science that is at work during each workout. She received a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, the study of human movement, from Temple University and went on to further receive accreditation from the Philadelphia School of Massage, where she learned of its therapeutic powers on the athlete. Ali also studied massage therapy, shiatsu, neuromuscular therapy, and trigger point therapy, to name a few. She has received numerous accreditations in national fitness programs, including professional certifications from the Aerobic and Fitness Association of American (AFAA), the American Council of Exercise (ACE), Advanced Personal Training from the AFAA Kickboxing and International Fitness Professional Association (IFPA), Sports Nutrition from the IFPA, and Yoga certification from California’s renowned Body Mind & Soul Program. Ali's love for education did not stop there, as she has her Masters in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College. She is a celebrity in the fitness scene from coast to coast. True lived in Los Angelos and worked as a celebrity trainer, where she trained Janice Dickinson of American’s Next Top Model and Dolph Lundren of Rocky IV, to name a few. She eventually returned to her home state of Maryland where she received the title of Miss Maryland Fitness and decided to open her own studio in Baltimore, True Balance Studio. Now she maintains her personal training certifications through NASM (National Academy Sports Medicine), and has recently completed NASM’s Behavior Change Specialist and received her Corrective Exercise Specialist Certifications. Ali sold her studio in Mt. Vernon 10 years later, then opened a new studio in Towson Maryland. She is now available at 6721 York Rd. Baltimore in her boutique training studio, True Balance Studio.
