National Take A Stand Campaign

Conceptualized and implemented all aspects of campaign Ambassador and Precinct Captain programs. Duties included but not limited to overseeing programs to insure hitting numbers and adjusting tactics when necessary, providing training in campaign states throughout the country for staff and Ambassadors/Precinct captains, compilation of weekly reports for Principals and client, liaise with Principals on potential new tactics and expansion of program, conduct weekly calls with state directors and monitoring the recruitment of volunteers for campaign. Additional campaign operations duties included assisted with all aspects of hiring and training of over 100 staff nationwide, assisted with conception and design of campaign literature and training materials, assisted with set up of campaign offices, and assisted National Campaign Director with all aspects of national campaign.

Take A Stand was a national nonpartisan advocacy campaign that began in the early primary states to engage AARP members and the public to encourage Presidential candidates to commit to updating Social Security for the 21st century. As the State Field Director, I supported recruitment, hiring, and training of staff and volunteers, managed a large-scale state program, and responsible for using tactics to successfully execute a defined program strategy. The program included tactics such as phone banking, canvassing, online digital engagement, and in-person events. My duties included but were not limited to:*Provided daily leadership for staff and volunteers in order to successfully execute state campaign*Served as direct supervisor for Lead Field Organizers to drive contact and other engagement programs*Liaise with local AARP state office on campaign and coordinate effectively to meet program goals*Ensure development of positive, productive experiences between AARP members and campaign*Organized attendance at presidential candidate events*Created opportunities for campaign publicity to include press coverage, speaking engagements, open houses, phone banks, etc.

Responsible for successfully developing and supervising grassroots Parkridge Advocates organization tasked with demonstrating community support to state regulators and gain approval for construction of the new Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge hospital. This included completion and submission of required petition signatures for regulatory consideration and approval; serving as public spokesperson before local business, church, school, civic and governmental organization meetings and events; developing and maintaining relationships with leadership and officials from those organizations. Assisted in development and implementation of marketing, public relations and community participation plan for events leading up to and for grand opening of the new hospital. Managed community outreach, developed a strong presence for new hospital by identifying, recommending, and participating in significant sponsorship opportunities and key community events.
