About Ali Çehreli

Software Engineer with C, C++, and D back-end skills working on library APIs.Looking back at my work history, the startup Berkeley Networks has a special place in my heart. I've learned and contributed a lot there. I still prefer dynamic and high-paced startup environments but my current family situation does not allow me to work on weekends on a regular basis.I liked my role as a framework developer the most: writing library code for the consumption of other developers. I am proud of the C++ libraries that I've written at Riverbed. I've strived to make them as usable and correct as possible.I prefer smaller companies where I can own and have pride in a piece of code that I've written. I like environments where developers are valued, not seen as replaceable assets.I've always been fascinated with computer programming ever since I've touched a computer for the first time. I am very much interested in system languages C, C++, and D, and have very many years of experience in them. However, although I am familiar with the newer C++ features, both due to my strong recent interest in the D programming language and not having switched to C++11 for a long while at work, I would not claim expertise in C++11 and beyond.Although I did program in Python and Go (even Perl), I do not find those tools matching my programming style.To my surprise, my D interest made me a known figure in the D world: the author of one of the go-to books in D.
