Beauty Quest Group is a leading integrated manufacturer and marketer of branded and private label hair care, color and styling products to professional salons and specialty retailers.Beauty Quest Group sells a wide range of hair care products including Aquage, RUSK and One ‘n Only, as well as private label brands for leading retailers. In addition, Beauty Quest Group provides contract manufacturing services to other leading marketers of hair care and other topical products.

As Managing Director, Operations Corporate Finance, I led the operations team for transaction advisory services, business advisory services (restructuring, value creation), and valuation and capital markets. In this role, new policies and procedures were put in place to streamline administrative tasks and relieve some of the burden off the client facing team. In addition, tools were implemented to create efficiencies, manage risk, and led to better tracking of information enabling improved reporting for better decision making. My past experience in M&A (10 years at the Big 4 and an additional five years at other organizations as well as time in corporate development) provide me with the necessary skillset to successfully lead the team. This position reported directly to the Corporate Finance Leader. Leading with empathy, I provided solutions to help the team thrive.

At CrossLake Group, I was the Director of Finance/Chief Financial Officer. At the time, CrossLake Group was a startup company in the aerospace and defense space. My primary roles and responsibilities were meeting with investors, potential acquisition targets, and other potential stakeholders. In the role, I was responsible for synthesizing data in a way that would be meaningful to our stakeholders.

As Vice President of Corporate Finance, I was responsible for managing the M&A process at Blue Star Sports (now dba Stack Sports). While at the Company, we closed twelve transactions in five months. This experience gave me visibility on the entire deal process. I grew an appreciation of the deal life cycle as I was part of transactions from the initial handshake to funds flow to synergy realization. Relationship building and management was key in this role as the M&A process can be taxing on seller and working together and leading with empathy was imperative to be successful in this role.

Led financial due diligence engagements ranging in purchase prices of $10M to over $1B. In this role, I was responsible for the successful execution of financial due diligence engagements which included coaching and mentoring less seasoned team members and developing and executing on training and development. In this role I worked on two significant carve-out transactions which reported directly to client executive team. The relationships developed on these engagements led to role expansions and increased revenue for the company.

While at PwC, I was part of the team that won the CEO award for excellent client service. PwC provided me with many opportunities to work on both buy-side and sell-side engagements. My clients were a mix of financial and strategic buyers and were also a mix of domestic and international transactions. While at PwC, I was a key contributor on a strategic sell-side transaction not only assisting to prepare for the transaction, but also managing the transaction process. The strong relationship developed with this client, resulted in additional consulting work on key performance indicators and revitalizing internal performance metrics.

The first 2.5 years at EY were with the assurance practice. While in assurance services I worked on both large, global corporations, as well as private small businesses. From assurance I moved into EY's transaction advisory services practice where I worked on a wide variety of engagements ranging in both deal size and industry. Leading with a curious mind, I was given the opportunity to work on large carve-out transactions as well as significant transactions in mining and natural resource industries.
