Badhan is a voluntary blood donars’ organization. The journey of Badhan has been continuing since 1997. Through a Free Blood Group Testing Program on 24 October, 1997 in the Shahidullah Hall of Dhaka University, Badhan expressed itself. Before that, dream of an organization from the thoughts of doing something for the people requiring blood (specillay who gathered regularly in the Hall Gate) was running in the mind of one student of that hall Md. Shahidul Islam Ripon. Later he pioneered some other students along with him toward the same thought. And the outcome was that 24 October’s program and Badhan! We, the members of Badhan, donate blood ourselves and motivate others also to donate blood! যুগের প্রয়োজনে প্রযুক্তিনির্ভর গঠনমূলক ও সৃষ্টিশীল প্রজন্ম গড়ে তোলার উদ্দেশ্যে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় সংস্থাপিত করে একটি ‘তথ্য প্রযুক্তি সংসদ’। সংগঠনটির নাম ‘ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় তথ্য প্রযুক্তি সংসদ’ যা পরিচালিত হচ্ছে এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সভাপতি আবদুল্লাহ আল ইমরান এবং সাধারণ সম্পাদক মোঃ আরিফ দেওয়ান এর হাত ধরে। সংসদটির প্রধান পৃষ্ঠপোষক হলেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় উপাচার্য আ,আ,ম,স আরেফিন সিদ্দিকী এবং মরডারেটর হলেন ডঃ এ জে এম শফিউল আলম ভূঁইয়া, বিভাগীয় প্রধান টেলিভিশন এন্ড ফিল্ম মিডিয়া স্টাডিজ, ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। আমাদের উদ্দেশ্য ক্যাম্পাসে তথ্য প্রযুক্তি বান্ধব পরিবেশ সৃজন করা যেহেতু একুশ শতককে বলা হয় ‘তথ্য প্রযুক্তির শতক’।এখানে সংগঠকরা তাদের সদস্যদের সাথে নিয়ে তথ্য প্রযুক্তির সম্ভাবনা ও উপকারিতাকে কাজে লাগিয়ে শিক্ষার্থীদের মাঝে একটা ইতিবাচক ভবিষ্যৎ পরিকল্পনা গড়ে তুলতে সহায়তা করছে। ডি ইউ আই টি এস এর আনুষ্ঠানিক উদ্বোধন হয়েছিল ২০১১ সালের সেপ্টেম্বর মাসে। বিশেষ কমিটির মাধ্যমে দীর্ঘদিন ধরে উল্লেখযোগ্য কাজ করার পর অবশেষে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় উপাচার্য আ আ ম স আরেফিন সিদ্দিকের উপস্থিতিতে এক জাঁকজমকপূর্ণ অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে ৩রা, ফেব্রুয়ারী ২০১২ নির্বাচিত কার্যকরী সদস্যদের আনুষ্ঠানিক যাত্রা শুরু হয়।
