During the year as INFN associate, I developed my Master Thesis work, joining the LHCb-Pisa group, led by Prof. Giovanni Punzi. The LHCb (Large Hadron Collider beauty) is one of the 4 major experiments sited along the LHC ring, the world's largest proton-proton collider operating at the laboratories of CERN (ConseilEuropéen pour la Recherche Nucléaire), close to Geneva.The Standard Model (SM) of particle physics is nowadays the widely accepted theory describing the wild world of the particles. However, it still leaves some open questions, one of them: ‘why there is more matter than anti-matter in the universe?’ . The main objective of my work was to look for 'cracks' in the theory, which would leave room for a 'new physics' that could help answer the question above.

My Bachelor Thesis Internship at University Hospital Policlinico di Modena was on Medical Physics, concerning MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) data analysis of patients with hydrocephalus.The aim of the work was to find evidence of the hydrocephalus condition in quantitative parameters. First I developed a MATLAB code to read MRI data, then I performed the analysis using two different MRI-based neuroimaging techniques.
