Caring for students at Burke High School and Simmons-Pinckney Middle School

In SICU: Direct patient care, Shared governance rep, unit education for annual competencies, taught ACLS. Participated in Nursing peer review.

Worked on a DOD funded clinical trail studying the effects of high dose Omega-3 FA on nutrition and suicide risks and behaviors of Veterans & Non-veterans. Created SOPs, edited study protocol as needed, administered psychosocial & behaviorial assessment tools, performed phlebotomy, conducted complex study visits, supervised and trained level 1 coordinators.

In SICU: Direct patient care, Shared governance rep, unit education for annual competencies, taught ACLS. For CPOE test team: Tested new or revised MD electronic orders, trained staff (MD, ancillary & Nursing) and assisted in implementing electronic order entry

Supervised ADN Med surg students on med-surg, stepdown units in 2 local hospitals. Clinicals were twice weekly. Provided direct supervision for all bedside patient care skills, medication administration, reviewed med-surg appropriate knowledge, conducted post-conferences, reviewed patient care plans & provided direct interim feedback & student evaluation daily and at end of semester. Supervised 8-9 students per semester.

Staff nursing, med-surg inpatient units, ICU, ED, & PACU. Outpatient CNS Cardiology, GI clinics, ALCS Instructor, Unit manager for ED, ICU. Dept head Education & Professional Development, Asst Directror of Nursing, Manager Outpatient Clinic & Medevac unit. Flight Nurse.
