Phd ResearcherUniversity Of Nottingham Oct 2018 - Mar 2023My research focused on investigating the use of cannabinoids for treating the aggressive brain cancer, glioblastoma multiforme. This included synthesis of cannabinoid derivaties, in vitro assessment of the molecules and studying the in vivo delivery. I used a combination of analytical techniques, including HPLC and 3D OrbiSIMS (Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry), to analyse and understand both the mechanism of action of the molecules, and their distribution in vivo. -

I also gained experience using instrument-specific software to run instruments and analyse the data produced. I worked on a method development project, where I was responsible for all elements of the development process, from the literature research through to the validation of the method. I had experience with analysing risks of certain tasks and completing COSHH forms. I also gained experience working in a professional laboratory environment, seeing the work that goes into keeping the laboratory running smoothly. Show less
