- Selected to join the British Council run programme where my responsibilities were to increase confidence and an understanding in English amongst pupils, and I was required to work in an international team with the other teachers at the school- Took classes of up to 30 students from ages 7 to 11, often alone which required leadership and adaptability to certain situations depending on the standards of language in each class- Encouraged students to engage with English language by increasing class interaction. Used many methods to encourage creativity and used video, images and basic children’s literature to stimulate interest their in the UK- Overcame problems of student disobedience and poor communication and organisation by the school- Students and teachers expressed great satisfaction with my performance and I received letters and pictures from students expressing thanks and a desire to visit Britain- Organised a French language class for myself and the other assistants in order to further improve our language skills in a formal environment.
