I am primarily a conceptual artist, but have a deep interest in the exacting use of materials to convey social, political and philosophical ideas. I am passionate about nature and curious about human interaction with the non-human and how it is reflected in human interaction with human. I am presently engaged in researching rural life through a second series of snare paintings and drawings, and, in partnership with Louise Short, founding a Welsh international centre for critically informed and socially engaged contemporary art in mid-west Wales. In addition I earn a living documenting contemporary artists' work, editing and/or collaborating with other artists and art professionals on their films. Recent examples are: Construction With Glass, Here Be Dragons and Not a Hat is This with London-based artist Janetka Platun, Making Contemporary Art Accessible with Gill Nicol of LightsGoingOn, currently Head of Education and Marketing at MOMA, Sydney, Australia, and Night Time Room for Ronnie Close (artist/film maker currently working in Egypt).
