YOUNGIS is a network of young scholars from Dutch Universities, specialising in criminal law. The group is embedded within the Netherlands National Group – Gezelschap voor Internationaal Strafrecht (GIS) of the International Association of Penal Law -Association International de Droit Pénal (AIDP). The AIDP is worldwide the oldest association of specialists in penal law and one of the oldest scientific associations. Research and litigation in the field of mental health and prisoners' rights within the project "A mente libera".

StraLi for Strategic Litigation (StraLi) is preparing a strategic path to challenge the use of facial recognition technology by law enforcement and judicial authorities in Italy. We will also identify partners, domestically and at European level, who are bringing forward similar litigation activities, to create a strong network and pursue common advocacy efforts.Specifically, the planned litigation will target exemptions to a law enacted in December 2021. This law suspended the installation and use of facial recognition technology in public spaces by both private and public actors, with an exemption for its continued use for the prevention, investigation, detection and prosecution of criminal offences.Our strategic goal is to ensure that biometric surveillance can only be carried out where it is pursuant to a well-defined legislative framework and complies with fundamental human rights.In June 2023, we published the first result of our research. Stefanelli & Stefanelli Law Firm project is a 20 years old firm specialized in Procurement, Healthcare and Business law.As a trainee lawyer, I contributed in the following areas: * Data Protection:- Advice to companies on GDPR compliance, with a special focus on healthcare, medical devices and clinical trials;- Artificial Intelligence and GDPR;- Assistance in DPO activities conducted by avv. Stefanelli (vigilance, risk assessment of processing activities, audits, ...);- Corporate criminal liability (d.lgs 231/2001) and cybercrimes.* Health Law: judicial assistance in disciplinary proceedings conducted by boards of health professionals, authorizations and accreditations of private healthcare facilities, clinical trials. * Criminal Law: criminal liability of healthcare professionals, defamation, economic crimes.

The organisation is a legal clinic which provides free legal aid to homeless people. All the lawyers work as a volunteers.I was responsible for the immigration law and criminal law desk. My main task was to coordinate the weekly branches and to follow individual cases with lawyers. I also worked on drafting projects to get funding from various institutions. I organized awareness-raising events for both lawyers and citizens of the city of Bologna.I worked at this Organisation as part of a National Program called Servizio Civile Nazionale, which allows, young people from the age of 18 to 29, after passing a public selection, to work for an Organisation of the third sector for a year.

I was an intern at the Criminal Sentencing Office.
