The Grief and Bereavement Network is a lived experience network for staff at Alzheimer's Society. Our primary focus is to deliver a peer support space by creating a community on our internal social networking platform and facilitating virtual drop in sessions.

Dementia Talking Point is Alzheimer’s Society’s online community for anyone affected by dementia. The key parts of my role are to support the service by handling email enquiries, moderating user content, handling safeguarding concerns, supporting volunteers, and supporting projects relating to the operation, promotion, evaluation or development of the Dementia Talking Point service.

Responsible for coaching, leadership and management of the companion call officers and indirectly the team of companion call volunteers. I also support the evaluation, development and growth within the service.

Co-founded The Grief Sofa podcast as we invited guests with lived experience of grief and bereavement to share their stories, breaking down stigmas one conversation at a time. Co-hosted and co-produced 2 seasons, gaining 10,000 listens across the world and 5,000 followers on our Instagram community. Available to listen to on all major streaming platforms.

As a Host Coordinator I was responsible for volunteer management of 5 peer-support groups. Responsbibilities included the recruitment and induction of new volunteers, managing safe-guarding concerns, group administration and day to day support. I had a duty to ensure that all the teams of volunteers I support felt informed, supported and valued enabling them to provide the best support to our service users.

In my role as a peer-support host, I facilitated online and in person peer support groups. I supported the development and evaluation of online peer support communities, managing and moderating the content and providing support to hundreds of service users.

I worked closely with both the Managing Director and the Accounts Manager delivering on projects by developing clear and open lines of communication and building strong relationships. I was responsible for overseeing employees paperwork and wages whilst monitoring and raising all internal and external invoices for the company.
