Alice is a specialist in health and medical law, and has experience in insurance, workers’ compensation claims and civil litigation within both the State and Federal jurisdictions. Alice acts for medical and other healthcare practitioners, healthcare facilities and their insurers in pre-litigation and litigated medical negligence claims across a wide variety of clinical service areas. She regularly advises in relation to catastrophic injuries and claims for nervous shock, loss of consortium and dependency, and has experience in investigations by the Office of the Health Ombudsman, the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and the Coroner's Court of Queensland. Alice has gained recent experience in advising in relation to clinical reviews and health service investigations. Having spent the first two years of her post-admission career advising exclusively in relation to pre-litigation and litigated workers’ compensation and related claims, Alice maintains a practice in the workers' compensation space, particularly acting for national clients in the energy and mining industries. Alice is a member of the Queensland Law Society’s Health and Disability Law Committee, and regularly volunteers her time to provide pro bono general and procedural advice through LawRight (formerly the Queensland Public Interest Law Clearing House) at its Self Representation Service and Refugee Civil Law Service (formerly the Refugee Civil Law Clinic).
