I am a lawyer with a passion for using the law to improve the lives of vulnerable people in our South Australian community. I currently manage the Civil Law Division at the Legal Services Commission of South Australia where I lead a team of lawyers who assist clients with Mental Health, Guardianship, NDIS and Migration matters. Prior to joining Legal Services in September 2023, I was the Head of Policy and Strategy at the Australian Pro Bono Centre. I also spent nearly two decades as a commercial litigator in the private sector, representing clients in a broad range of disputes involving insolvency, professional negligence, breach of contract and trade practices issues. During that time, I worked at two of Australia’s largest commercial firms (Corrs Chambers Westgarth and Holding Redlich), spent two years as an Associate to Justice Kevin Bell at the Supreme Court of Victoria, and was a Principal of LK Law in Adelaide.In 2020, I created The Accessible Justice Project (AJP) along with my colleagues at LK Law and the University of Adelaide. The AJP is a not-for-profit law firm which provides low cost legal services to the ‘missing middle’, being those members of the community who are ineligible for publicly funded legal aid and who also cannot afford the services of a private lawyer.I am a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and have served on the boards of several not-for-profit organisations in South Australia, including Young Adelaide Voices Inc and Welcome to Australia Ltd. I currently serve as a director of The Accessible Justice Project Limited and the State Theatre Company of South Australia.I hold a Bachelor of Laws with Honours, a Bachelor of Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Human Rights Law from the University of Melbourne.
