I assist both patrons and library staff with organization, computer, copier, and software services. As a response to the pandemic I've adapted social media and streaming platforms to provide patrons with scheduled programs. For some library events and promotions I have enabled and contributed to increasing diversity in the content of displays and accessibility. I utilize the public space as a function of community networking and help promote and provide materials for the general public.I serve patrons by implementing basic research skills and navigating the Dewey Decimal System. I use the specific library database software Sierra and its many tools to search for patrons and items eligible for checkout. I also help catalog expired magazines and newspapers while updating the subscription to these materials each week and/or month. I assist patrons with copier services and computer stations in a greater capacity since the pandemic has strained many job resources. The library provides non-book materials such as tablets and wifi hotspots which require more careful lending and responsibility. Online learning, e-resources, virtual events, and the larger Jefferson County Library Cooperative catalog are available to patrons and I am responsible for giving technical and customer service for these resources.

I continually support and campaign for many local campaigns in my state of Alabama centered in Jefferson County in Birmingham. Using my actionID profile I have collected voter data and have collaborated with other volunteers and political organizers to build a local voter database in Google sheets and Microsoft Excel to be used for future GOTV campaigns.

I tutor and mentor upcoming biology students in Advanced Placement courses. I prepare students for the more rigorous and in-depth biology material at a university level, the level at which problem-solving is the dominant focus as opposed to taxonomy.

STAIR is a volunteer mentorship program providing valuable verbal and reading skills for 2nd-3rd grade students enrolled in Birmingham City public schools. STAIR tutors commit to tutoring children in reading, vocabulary, pronunciation, and comprehension for all available weeks of the school year. As a tutor I use materials familiar to the children to help develop their skills and build confidence in their self-learning. I am experienced in reaching children who are at different developmental levels. I also mentor new tutors during their onboarding.

I lead tutoring hours and created and maintained online study groups for undergraduates in the BY 256 Lab of Vertebrate Zoology. I directed videos and photography in the lab to serve as supplementary resources.

I lead lab instruction for the Anatomy and Physiology course at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The labs contained cadavers for students to use hands-on learning to identify and compare physiologies for future medical training. I oversaw labs during supplemental study hours, disinfecting the space and properly storing all materials and cadavers. I was also the first line of defense against privacy violations and maintained the lab integrity.

I assisted in the research conducted by Dr. Lesley Ross in the UAB Gerontology Department. Under Dr. Ross I worked as a researcher as part of the The Study of Healthy Aging & Applied Research Programs. I screened participants for treatment trials and provided baseline testing from which to apply more experimental treatments in improving memory and IQ. I also researched and documented literature review for multiple domains of car crash data.

I trained thoroughly in office services such as Microsoft products and physical products such as copiers and fax machines. I adapted to and trained clients on various copier models with different functionalities relevant to the operations of the Johnson, Barton, Proctor & Rose law firm in Birmingham. I also revised the comprehensive site manual for employees complete with MSDS resources and updated digital services. I lead instruction of new services and created many more in-house manuals with instructions for all users. Secretaries, paralegals, and partners of the firm relied on me to perform office tasks and deliver quality services. I increased the digital database of discovery materials, payroll account information, and personal information of clients. I earned Employee of the Month for my fast learning with high precision.
