Providing women ED's and Senior Managers of small and growing non-profits in the Bay Area with Executive Coaching support. I provide one-to-one coaching sessions and workshops with staff. One-to-one sessions provide a confidential and supportive space for the client to take a step back and a deep breath, and reflect on their work and goals, share their concerns, explore their ideas and clarify their priorities.Workshops with staff enable ideas developed in coaching to be taken into the organization and developed further.I draw on my own experience of setting up and developing a thriving non-profit youth service organization in a low income community in London, UK and my later experience of coaching start-up social entrepreneurs across the UK.I listen attentively. I have worked as an Early Childhood Educator in a number of preschools starting as a volunteer at Puddle Jumpers Workshop in 2013 going on to volunteer and train at Noe Valley Nursery School (Susan Edwards) and Rocky Mountain Preschool (Linda Mickleson). On completing training as an Early Childhood Educator I worked at Growing Places Preschool; Tree Frog Treks; Little Earthlings Forest Preschool (David Calabrese). I trained as a Waldorf Teacher and worked at San Francisco Waldorf Preschool (Heidi Schwarzenbach), Neighborhood Playground (Julie Fellom) and most recently again at the San Francisco Waldorf Preschool (Susanna Mandel).

Provided support on the award winning MY PATH peer led youth savings program.Supporting the ED in the interim before recruiting the first layer of senior staff. Work included re-working project descriptions, communications and funding applications.

As Head of Education & Youth Ventures at The Young Foundation, I established a team to set-up and run an investment fund, The Learning Launchpad, for start-up social entrepreneurs in the youth and community space, specifically tackling school to work transitions and action learning. Approximately $100k seed funding was distributed, in chunks of about $15k, accompanied by incubation services - including intensive training, professional mentoring, networking, back office - to a portfolio of 15 start-ups - notably Working Rite, Enabling Enterprise, Space Unlimited and Vi-Ability (UK's best start-up social enterprise 2010). The Learning Launchpad became an influential model for supporting early stage ventures in the education space and is succeeded by The Young AcademyI also established and headed up the Youth of Today Leadership Fund - part of a national Government led consortium project to support a step change in scale and reach of youth leadership development activities across England and Wales. $1m was distributed through the fund, creating a portfolio of over 30 grantees from the non-profit world. The management of the Fund included a Youth Leadership Team, representing young people from across the UK, who developed and led their own funding program, I Do Ideas http://the-young-foundation.tagmap.co.uk/, distributing a further $50k.

Founding Executive Director of SkyWay (2001-2006) - a youth development charity based in the most socially and economically deprived borough in London; Hackney.I set the organization up from scratch taking it to an annual turnover of over $800k over five years, creating action projects with young people in need of further education and training. This included fundraising, organizational systems and development strategy, partnership building, staff and Board development, volunteer and mentoring programs, training and accreditation, building management, and much more besides.During my time SkyWay received accolades and awards for youth-led programming in sexual health (Clued Up!), football (Teenage Kicks five-a-side soccer tournament) and a young fathers project (HI DADS), from a range of funders and institutions including: NHS Improving Health & Reducing Inequalities Award, The Parenting Fund UK, City of London Dragon Awards, Football Foundation UK, Sports Relief UK, London Borough of Hackney Volunteer and Voluntary Project AwardsWhilst at SkyWay I was also the co-founder of Shoreditch Youth Network (2004-2011) - a forum for youth service providers to collaborate and coordinate, fundraise, etc. that spearheaded youth service reform in the borough of Hackney.

The second employee of this award winning multi-million pound creative industry led urban regeneration initiative. A time bound organization that harnessed the multiple millennial events (including the London's millennium dome's extravaganza) to support young unemployed Londoners to get work in the creative industries. The organization grew to over 120 employees with five operational 'creative enterprise centres' across inner London and had incredible success in helping creative young Londoner's find and create work across the creative industries.The first IT and creative industries training and regeneration partnership of its kind in Europe, with a program board which included Channel 4, BBC, Carlton, Pearson, Cisco Systems and Camelot, Local Authorities and FE Colleges. It was cited by Government (DCMS, DTI, DfES, Cabinet Office) as an exemplar social enterprise program for its achievements in diversifying the talent supply chains to London’s premier IT and creative industries.I cut my teeth here, beginning with volunteer program development and management, to becoming the Brixton Creative Enterprise Center Manager, to overseeing all five Creative Enterprise Centers.I oversaw setting up systems for building management, program management, staff management, contract management, reporting and monitoring systems, as well as strategic development through partnership building, program development, stakeholder engagement, events...
