Belmont Village was founded in 1997 as an integrated developer, owner and operator of high-end senior housing. At the time of my departure, Belmont operated 21 communities in six states.In my role, I reported directly to the CEO with primary responsibility for investor relations, financial reporting, and operational analysis for senior housing company.

RediClinic operates high-quality, convenient and affordable retail healthcare clinic. My responsibilities ranged from oversight of day-to-day operations at 7 retail healthcare clinics to deployment of strategic projects.

At the time of my internship, CenterPoint Ventures was one of the largest early-stage venture capital firms based in the Southwest. It was originally founded in 1996 by veteran entrepreneurs and former executives of Convex Computer, Mostek, and Texas Instruments. Their last fund, totally $272 Million, was being invested during my tenure. My responsibilities included research for the investment professionals including quantifying market size and identifying potential investment banks for public offerings.

Founded in 2001, our Clean Energy Incubator (CEI) is one of the longest-established energy and cleantech incubators in the United States. Our parent institution, the University of Texas, does more energy research than any other university in the world.I worked with incubator applicants on admission materials, proposed recommendations to director, and consulted with incubator companies on marketing strategies.

At the time of my internship, Verity Ventures financed Texas-based, early-stage companies with investments between $5 million to $7 million. Target interests included technology, telecommunications and software. I reviewed business plans and made recommendations to general partners.

Belmont Village was founded in 1997 as an integrated developer, owner and operator of high-end senior housing. I managed the IT department for the corporate office and community operations. This included 11 operating communities with approximately 1200 employees and one corporate office with 40 professionals. Additionally, our network was integrated with our parent company SCG, which required coordination with their IT department. After SCG's acquisition by GE Capital Real Estate, we migrated some of our network infrastructure to GE and maintained some systems in-house such as Microsoft Exchange.
