During this first year I completely took responsibility for the class, planning and delivering exciting lessons, planning and organising trips to enrich their learning and taking on the paperwork for the class including SEND paperwork such as ISPs and referrals. During this year the pandemic meant we moved to online and paper based learning. I created differentiate learning packs and delivers online content to support the paper learning packs. After this successful year I was employed for a further year but moved into Reception. I continued to plan and deliver lessons, assess the children and deliver appropriate interventions. I also lead a team of support staff effectively to support children in making good progress. I was kept on for a further year once my contract had ended despite budget restrictions at the school. After two successful years in Reception I moved into Year 5. I have taken on this upper Key Stage 2 position and found it highly enjoyable and am working effectively with new staff and in a new working team.In all these roles I have planed differentiated lessons, evaluated the success and tigress made by the students and adapted accordingly. I have assessed the children and these assessments have informed further planning and interventions for the children to maximise their progress. I have also been on residential trips with KS2 children, organised various trips across KS1, KS2 and Early Years and have run various after school clubs such as photography, art, quizzes and story clubs. I have also taken on subject leadership, covering English while a teacher was on maternity leave and also leading Art across the school. Show less

As a three form Reception, we work closely as a unit in order to plan our lessons but teach our classes separately, and adapt our planning to fit the specific children in our own class. We teach to a structured timetable and cover phonics, literacy, maths and fine motor skills every morning. My class has a large range of ability and includes children with both EAL and SEN. My wider responsibilities within the school have included running after school clubs, and currently put me as part of a 'Thinking Schools Drive Team' for which I have to monitor other staff members work and have regular meetings to ensure that we are all working towards accreditation as a 'Thinking School'. During my PGCE placement, I undertook several placements in Reception, a Year One/Two split class and a stand alone Year 2. I also had the opportunity to teach a lesson in Year Six. I observed many different styles of teaching during this time due to being in contrasting schools, and my role changing from a teaching assistant, part of a team teach and finally to a student class teacher who was teaching over 70% of the time.
