As TennGreen Land Conservancy’s Executive Director, I am responsible for directing organizational strategy, overseeing day-to-day activities, improving performance, developing organizational culture, supervising heads of departments, managing budgets, and ensuring that the work of TennGreen is held to the highest standards.With increasing responsibility and leadership roles throughout my tenure at the organization, I have overseen significant land acquisition and special project campaigns raising more than $17m, increasing annual operating revenue by 250% (and increasing the average donation by 220%), doubling the number of staff at TennGreen, and rebranding the organization into a highly successful land conservation organization that is welcoming and successful to all. During this time, TennGreen has been granted several honors, including Best Places to Work by the Nashville Business Journal and the Center for Nonprofit Management’s Frist Foundation Revenue Development Award.

As the Manager of Development, I worked with c-level staff to create, design and implement fundraising strategies to raise approximately $1.2m within each fiscal year. Some specific duties included collaborating with the Board of Directors to develop, execute, and analyze the impact of all fundraising strategies and activities; planning and executing events; managing the Development team, as well as reporting to other staff, consultants, and the Board of Directors; and managing and/or assisting other special fundraising campaigns as they arose.

I was responsible for executing the plan and strategy for the Annual Giving Program at Centerstone by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts from friends, employees, volunteers, corporations, grant-making foundations, and others. Additionally, I assisted in raising funds for other special projects and needs that arise throughout the year. I was responsible for increasing the number of $1,000 and above donors through moves management, events, and other appropriate means. Additionally, I managed Centerstone's Ambassadors Circle of Tennessee. Established in 2005, the Ambassadors Circle works to advance Centerstone’s mission by representing Centerstone in the community, creating awareness of mental health issues, identifying potential funding opportunities and assisting in fund solicitation to meet established goals. These activities were aimed to help ensure Centerstone had the resources to continue to provide the highest quality treatments and therapies for generations to come.

I successfully completed three Annual Giving campaigns, raising $557,000 in 2009-2010 and increasing parent participation by sixteen percent in three years. I was responsible for soliciting donations, researching prospects, writing all solicitation materials, creating and managing a stewardship program, organizing and managing over of 80 parent volunteers, presenting to the Development Committee and Head of School, and creating an Annual Report of Donors. In directing the alumni program, my duties included planning alumni events and reunions, coordinating all communications with alumni, managing the online community, co-editing the Alumni Magazine, and serving as the staff liaison to the Alumni Council. Other additional responsibilities included event planning (Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day, Head of School Dinner for major donors, Convocation, etc.), oversight of database and query management, and training new members of our team.

Job experience included organizing and coordinating volunteers; developing and maintaining a stewardship plan; running the alumni program and being the Alumni Council laison to the school; keeping all campaign spreadsheets updated; planning events; processing gifts; helping to coordinate materials for foundations; and sitting in all on development meetings, including meetings with the campaign chairs and Coxe Curry consultants, communications staff, alumni council, and strategic planning sessions.

Coached the Varsity and the Junior High Swim Teams and lead a year-long campaign to increase the size of the team, which resulted in doubling both groups.
