I am passionate about improving experiences through design. With a strong background in UI and digital design, I love to analyse why things don’t work, question the status quo, and enhance them using design thinking principles. I love to be working on a project that makes me loose track of time. Collaboration is key for me - I thrive in team settings where ideas can be brought to life.At university, I thoroughly enjoyed creating human-centred design solutions. One of my favourite projects was a food group fridge puzzle game for children. This involved extensive primary research talking to parents and visiting schools. The project was later commissioned by a children’s charity in Wales.My professional journey began at Kettlewell Colours, a family-run online clothing company. Initially I did a bit of everything, but I soon used my design skills to improve their website, coming up with a ‘shop by colour’ feature for their site, which became a highly commercial page. This experience cemented my love for design and collaboration – I made some life-long friends there.My last role was for Clarks International, where I specialised in creating accessible UI design solutions that improved global site experiences. Some of my key contributions included:• Leading the creation of a global design system.• Forming a team dedicated to continuous UX/UI improvements.• Designing component-based templates to streamline the design process for site and email.• Developing accessible, WCAG ‘AA’ compliant content collaboratively with designers and developers.• Supporting colleagues with their design needs, fostering a co-operative work environment.In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my two young boys, reading, woodland and beach walks and baking apple and blackberry crumbles. I am creative, organised and friendly and thrive on a challenge.
