I am a Doctoral research student and healthcare manager. My career began as a BSc emergency nurse, where I acquired invaluable skills in adaptability and resilience.I pursued further education, achieving a Master's in Leadership whilst working in the community as a service manager. After completing my MSc, I returned to the hospital, in the role of matron, overseeing trauma, emergency and paediatric care.I was lucky to transition to the Chief Nurse's office, serving as a senior nurse and contributing significantly to strategic initiatives and organisational development within the 5-hospital group. During the pandemic I resumed operational management as a senior matron. I provided calm and compassionate leadership whilst overseeing a substantial team of clinical staff across medicine and urgent care services, ensuring the delivery of care during this challenging period. Post-pandemic, I had the privilege of leading and creating the foundations for quality and nursing excellence within a new state-of-the-art hospital in Central London.The experience gained from all roles has laid the groundwork for my current role as the CQC Registered Manager and Accountable Officer for palliative and end-of-life care services in Bedfordshire, as the Head of Clinical Services.In this capacity, I lead a multidisciplinary integrated team, strategically and operationally, to achieve outstanding care within the integrated system landscape. I also hold portfolio responsibilities nationally, working in the senior leadership team of the Chief Nurse on regulatory and professional standards. I have a firm commitment to fostering kind and inclusive cultures and nurturing individuals and teams to their fullest potential, I approach leadership as a transformational and servant leader. My expertise lies in leveraging effective people management practices to create outstanding quality outcomes, utilising regulatory frameworks and research.I am deeply passionate about making a positive impact in healthcare, ensuring that all communities receive equitable, outstanding care.
