As the station manager of NUTV, I am responsible for all of the station's output. I am the leader for all campaigns, events and activities that are recorded – with two of the biggest events being for Freshers week and Fight Night events. I represent NUTV when communicating with external sources, so I have to maintain professionality. I also have to constantly contact other branches of student media within the university.

As an Occupational English Assessor, my main role was to mark the exams and input data. These were all on the topic of nursing, as the company was training people to become nurses in England – as they had the qualifications in their respective countries. I used my knowledge of studying European languages for over 10 years to mark the Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking exams within a set timeframe, providing feedback on what the student did well and what they needed to improve on for their official exam. In this role, I did a lot individually, but I also had support from a team when needed. We all worked collaboratively. In the instance of finishing a task before I expected, I would help out the members of my team so that we could all finish on time. As this was a Work from Home role, I had to be very strict with my time management. I stuck to a routine that would help me to be productive, and I ensured that I kept my work and leisure separate.

My primary responsibility within this role was to be the individual responsible for all music shows on the radio station. As it was produced and fully run by students at the university, it was my goal as Head of Music to be approachable, and a friendly face on campus – someone that other students weren’t intimidated by if they encountered issues. I regularly collaborated with the executive team at the station in order to improve on the previous academic year’s team, as well as other national companies – like Polydor Records and the Student Music Network. I was able to host my own shows, having them based on different aspects of my personality, two shows included are where I spoke and played only French and Spanish shows, to accommodate the international students. It has given me more confidence in public speaking, despite me only speaking into a microphone, knowing there are many listeners to my show has motivated me to produce the best work I can.

In this, I hosted 4 shows over the years. I had to ensure that what was being broadcasted was appropriate and entertaining. I highly enjoyed collaborating with another student on our "Drive Time" show, where we would discuss funny things in the news, as well as my own show which I changed the theme weekly to challenge myself.

I worked in a JD store as a summer temp, and my primary role was putting out the delivery. I had to ensure that the store was kept tidy, and clothes were kept at a presentable standard. Here, I learned to work in a fast-paced retail environment. I had to treat every customer with respect, acknowledging everyone who came into the store and assisting with their needs while in the store. When a product was unavailable, I had to quickly assess which would be a suitable substitution available in store.
