I am an endangered species program biologist working on ESA Section 7 consultations as well as listing and recovery efforts for imperiled species in NJ. NJ lead biologist for the bog turtle (Glyptemys muhlenbergii), northern long-eared bat (MYSE), Indiana bat (MYSO) and the national recovery lead for swamp pink (Helonias bullata).

I completed a fellowship at the VA ecological services office supporting the IPaC (Information, Planning and Conservation) consultation assistance program. IPaC provides a project proponent with an automated list of federally protected species that could potentially be located within the impact area of a project. The program is also being adapted to assist.

Syracuse, New York Area

I worked in the 'small' mammals department providing food, care and enrichment to lions, lemurs, patas monkeys, and other primates. I was primarily responsible for preparing animal diets, cleaning enclosures, designing enrichment activities for the animals and educating the public.

SUNY ESF

Assisted MS candidate Cody Gilbertson in the research and care of the first successful captive breeding population of the Chittenango ovate amber snail, NYS's most endangered animal. I assisted with providing primary care for the snails and made observations regarding food preference among the snails, once a major hurdle to successfully keeping the snails.

We patrolled and monitored PIPL nest sites to increase nesting success and educate the public on the vulnerability of piping plovers and least terns to human disturbance.

Maintained laboratory equipment and assisted with greenhouse work supporting transgenic chestnut seedlings.
