Scholar transplanted from the class to the office as an educational travel planner, a decisive move to use my abilities, strengths, and training towards facilitating educational moments outside of classrooms. Working in travel planning for alumni communities, I aim to give international exposure and learning to non-traditional students — namely people returning to learning post-careers and now able to travel the world. I thrive on building connections, finding how community networks overlap and how individuals can open themselves to new experiences by following their interests and curiosities. From my scholarly days, I studied global media, particularly South Asian markets, and journalism industry values in multilingual societies. I completed my Ph.D. on perceptions of multilingualism and creative writing in Indian news with a focus on translation theory in journalistic writing practices.As a writer, I have worked under contract on various projects in long-form journalism, creative nonfiction, ghostwriting, and marketing content. Always interested in taking on freelance work. I also offer copy editing services, especially for academic writing. I’ve worked with scholars and research teams in the U.S., Europe, and India to edit journal articles, book chapters, dissertations, and grant proposals. Open to new clients.
