Participated in an independent research project under the mentorship of Professor Becky Alexander and postdoc Hannah Horowitz. The research project involves running the GEOS-CHEM atmospheric chemistry model to predict the effects of marine cloud brightening (MCB) on the chemistry in the atmosphere and the overall impact on the earth’s radiative forcing. We are currently writing a scientific paper which will present the magnitude of atmospheric chemistry-driven impacts of MCB on air pollution levels and climate via radiative forcing by ozone, methane, and other aerosols. Continued my independent research as a SURP (summer undergraduate research program) intern over the summer of 2018, funded by NASA. Participated in weekly SURP meetings sharing progress on the research project with other interns and practicing presentation skills. Presented a research poster to share findings and future plans at a forum amongst NASA representatives and professors.
