Port Authority Bus Terminal, New York City

1. Supervises and controls Bus Operations activities in assigned service area at the Port Authority Bus Terminal (Station Starters and/or Ticket Agents). Ensures traffic flow through the PABT is managed effectively and company funds are kept secure. Ensures holiday service and staffing is at appropriate levels and that special situations and emergencies are managed professionally.2. Ensures courteous and complete information is provided regarding all service at the PABT, and that support force issues are handled promptly and effectively. 3. Supervises and assigns the duties of agreement employees. Ensures Station Starters and Ticket Agents receive appropriate training and counseling. Performs first step grievances as necessary.4. Prepares reports, and analyzes data regarding assigned service. Analyzes on-time performance regarding assigned service area, and makes recommendations for necessary service changes.5. Operates and monitors the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) computerized bus management system and the park/ride revenue control system.

1. Observes and supervises Bus Operations activities to ensure maximum schedule adherence for field assignment.2. Troubleshoots mechanical and electronic equipment problems, such as radios/fareboxes for field assignments.3. Uses information available from CAD system to evaluate service and adjust as necessary to maintain consistent reliable service levels for Control Center assignments.4. Coordinates with other NJ TRANSIT departments and outside agencies as required to handle extraordinary events, such as: fuel spills, major accidents, traffic interruptions, weather conditions, and rail disruption for Control Center assignments.5. Investigates service related complaints to determine cause, recommends possible solutions and monitors implementation of solutions.6. Prepares daily reports, and conducts special checks, to include passenger counts, register/farebox checks, uniform checks, radio/PA checks, safety equipment checks, bus inspections, RRX checks, directional signal usage checks, Terminal/Bus Shelter inspections, and when required bus speed checks.7. Coordinates accessible bus requirements on a daily basis between the depot force, mechanical shop and field supervisors to ensure transportation of passengers with physical limitations as required by law.
