Corgan's marketing position included the production of marketing proposals, presentations and award submissions; collecting and entering information into client and image databases; researching potential and current client information sources; maintaining marketing collateral libraries; supporting the efforts of the firm’s principal’s in business development; maintaining the firm's brand guidelines; and coordination of client appreciation events. After 4 years, I transitioned from serving the firm at-large, to Corgan's PreK-12 sector where we believed the experience of learning—for both student and educator—was heightened in a well-designed space. The marketing department worked with Adobe's Creative Cloud, specifically InDesign.At Corgan, I participated in our Toastmaster's organization, Talkitecture.

As the publicity intern, I used media relations to relay information from the college to keep students, alumni and faculty informed. I worked to expand our social media outreach. I also wrote multiple monthly stories for our online publication, Converging News. This involved interviewing sources and following AP guidelines.

During winter break I joined Corgan again, this time in their marketing department. The firm was undergoing a brand refresh when I came back, and I worked on the preparation alongside the marketing team. I helped in the creation of their new website by writing stories about projects and leaders in the firm.

As a full time intern, my daily tasks were to update job postings, procedures and the intranet page. I also worked on editing their international handbook. I helped develop a campaign for ergonomic initiative called Sit-Stand which proved to be a success when half the employees opted to use new equipment. After watching training videos from The Sourcing Institute, I drafted an educational sourcing/recruiting guide based on notes and information I learned. Throughout the summer I participated in coordinating presentations, intern celebrations, 75th anniversary events and other training sessions.As a remote employee, I work closely with the recruiting manager to update and post jobs on the company website, LinkedIn and job sites. I also assist with the onboarding process of new hires.Corgan has offered me every opportunity to grow and learn throughout the summer and school year.

My semester internship consisted of working with the Communications and Community Relations Department to strengthen relationships in the district. I produced weekly news stories about the district which included interviewing participants, transcribing videos, writing scripts, and recording at the LISD TV station. I also wrote press releases, attended media events, and analyzed news about the district.

I worked closely with students who had learning disabilities and tutored them in their public relations, media and communications courses. While I worked with each student individually to establish best study practices and organizational skills, I learned the best method of communication and tutoring skill-set to suit their needs. It’s interesting how each of my students learned differently. By teaching them, I better understood my personal learning style and further advanced my knowledge of the course topics.
