Project: Canadian Satellite Design Challenge (CSDC-3/Aleksandr)Guided and mentored the organization’s current thermal lead in performing best thermal design practices and established the integration process of the thermal division with satellite subsystems; this substantially improved the power budget’s allocation and led to the accurate correlation of thermal behavior and a dramatic increase in the reliability of thermal sensitivity studies.

My role in Niveu.io was to research concepts of computer vision and its implication in real-time object recognition. This process involved the fundamentals of vision, image processing and GPU utilization for real-time object recognition experience.

PROJECT: MODULAR ASSEMBLY SATELLITE STANDARDOversaw the design and manufacturing of specialized testing fixtures for satellite environmental testing; administered quality control of the produced components, providing technical expertise as needed; established feasibility studies to facilitate the development of an accessible testing facility due to expensive vibration testing costs; this resulted in substantial cost reduction, with no running costs for future tests. Served as liaison for a Nano Satellite Ion Propulsion team, providing technical expertise in spacecraft design and facilitated environmental tests.

Project: Canadian Satellite Design Challenge (CSDC-2/Aleksandr)Utilized a design approach that incorporated current and potential problems and continuous improvements; established grounds for the design of a reliable thermal system for current and future satellites; conducted assessments of the operational and survival scenarios of orbital conditions; analyzed the satellite model using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and utilizing Siemens NX Nastran solutions; ensured the verification of vibration testing results and accordingly recommended improvements; provided support to team members in the areas of troubleshooting and mentorship for Siemens NX software; conducted thorough analysis of dynamic behavior, contributing to Space Concordia being awarded second place nationwide in the Canadian Satellite Design Challenge CSDC-2; served as a Manufacturing and Procurement Manager in charge of producing spacecraft components with tight tolerances; utilized a strategy in acquiring cost estimates that yielded up to 300% total cost reduction; and cultivated business partnerships with vendors and machine shops across the city.
