Mechanical Design Engineer at Lockheed Martin. CPE and Team Lead for 100+ pieces of Support Equipment hardware in support of the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program for the US Navy. Involved in all stages of projects: scheduling and hours spread, prototype design and development, requirements creation and validation, production design and development, developing maintenance procedures, etc. Primary role is Team Lead and Lead Designer for refreshing outdated hardware and creating new hardware. I lead a team of three engineers that I utilize for delegating various tasks and assigning as Responsible Engineers for given projects. Design work includes all steps of development such as developing CAD prototypes, down-selecting concepts, performing tolerance analyses, developing engineering drawings, and coordinating/collaborating with subcontractors during the fabrication stage. Hardware is then placed through rigorous testing under Test-Like-You-Fly (TLYF) conditions which can result in updates to the design. Role of CPE carries multiple responsibilities such as authorizing non-standard repairs/reworks and nonconformance waivers. Design experience includes work with Additive Manufacturing (AM) systems and designing specifically for AM. Have worked with aluminum (AlSi10Mg) and titanium (Ti6Al4V) in AM world. Familiar with various commercial and military specifications (ASTM, AMS, MIL-STD, MS, NAS, etc.). Have worked with and designed for low (<150 psig) and high (>150 psig) pressure systems. Familiar with various coatings, treatments, finishes and lubrications used in mechanical systems such as anodization processes, heat treatments, passivation processes, nickel platings, etc.
