We empower women who have the life experience, passion, and resolve to reimagine, rebuild, and fight for a just and equitable California. Program members are incredible women turned alumnae who are running up and down the ballot and serving at every level of office.

Reviewer from diverse background selected to assess grant applications using relevant experience in the field of "victim" (survivor) assistance; experience in providing culturally relevant "victim" services, services for multicultural communities, and non-traditional "victim" services, in addition to lived experience expertise. Knowledge and expertise in the following areas: child and elder abuse; compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma; criminal justice or legal advocacy; domestic violence and sexual assault; fraud and identity theft; human trafficking; language access; victim compensation; and victims' rights.Electronically conduct, assess and score applications within arranged review time period. Enter scores and detailed comments into an automated data system, and participate in consensus calls with all other reviewers on assigned panels.

Connected with the awesome HP of Food is Free Benicia food stand during the pandemic, and “did a thing” using my family's founded non-profit WAHEO to create a network and fiscal sponsorship that turned into helping feed our county and surrounding areas (Food is Free Solano, expanded to Food is Free Bay Area).

Implementing innovative, best practices-informed internal, and external community development through the tenets of multi-directional and responsive communication, full transparency, and self-accountability. Coordinate trauma-informed, victim-centered trainings, meetings, and events for all staff. Arrange, and attend meetings, conferences, events, etc. to connect with community stakeholders, potential sponsors, and take advantage of opportunities to increase awareness of the organization and its services. Grants management (CDPH, Cal OES) work includes file audits (personnel files, invoices and documentation), synthesizing grants into simplified documents to guide the duties and working-knowledge of associated program implementation staff in order to best ensure compliance with grant requirements.

Overnight shift certified Sexual Assault Counselor providing crisis intervention services for sexual assault victims in Contra Costa and Marin counties. Services include police interview and medical exams accompaniments, support via telecommunication lines, case documentation and reporting.

Part-time, independently-contracted Grant Writer for KidzSpeak Inc.: a non-profit agency whose mission is "to embrace every child as an individual and help them know their own individuality and self-worth and be able to articulate and communicate who they are, their passions, their ideas through presentations and public speaking. Our public speaking program provides children with social-emotional skills to thrive both in the classroom and in life. Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) techniques are incorporated in our public speaking program to: build confidence, make better decisions, and collaborate/communicate with others in work and play. Responsibilities include researching credible funding opportunities from funders whose work and/or values align with those of KidzSpeak Inc., cultivating partner relationships, maintaining detailed, accurate records, and creating persuasive, comprehensive proposal materials in order to complete timely and effective RFP's (Requests for Proposals).
