Design, Sustainability, Sourcing, Product Development, and Production; got it AND the network to back it up. I thrive in concept to construction, hands-on, product in-process, and in the machines. The solutions become greater than the obstacles and Design becomes Reality. I’ve learned this magic from Bill Blass, Perry Ellis, Club Monaco, and SUMMERSALT among others. Consultant to globally ranked apparel, accessories, cosmetic, fragrance, and spa industry leaders. Cultural Arts Envoy to the Dept. of State, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Embassy, Thailand. Founding board member of SAVETHEGARMENTCENTER.org and lifelong proponent of sustainable domestic manufacturing. Educator, guest speaker, panelist, and juror at Parsons, Pratt, FIT, and California College of the Arts. I co-founded RESTORE™ Clothing to blend social and environmental responsibility as it relates to garment design and development in NYC. More recently I’ve developed THROW NYC™, Maille (clothing), and Gi-lastics™. THROW NYC™Extends and transforms the lifecycle of materials by upcycling designer and industrial fabrics that have served their purpose. With extensive industry connections, THROW has nearly unlimited access to materials ideal for upcycling, resulting in beautiful and sustainable products. The THROW Banners to Bags program transforms trade show banners into durable, water-resistant totes and cross-body bags.
