I am responsible for the learning and development within the Supporter Services and Operations department of Cancer Research UK (CRUK). As the lead to deliver the department's L&D strategy, my role involves identifying learning and training needs within each team and recommending learning solutions in line with the department and organisational strategic goals. I regularly design, develop and deliver workshops for staff at all levels, from Apprentice to Senior Manager. I project manage and deliver learning events such as new starter inductions, line manager development and department away days. I also work with staff on an individual basis, which includes coaching and careers guidance.

My role predominantly involves designing, developing and delivering workshops for a wide range of young people (aged 9 - 18 years) and managing the 'Mentoring in Schools' scheme; involving Brookes students going into local schools to mentor year 11s. Other job requirements include delivering Higher Education presentations to both students and parents in schools and colleges and attending UCAS fairs to recruit students for the University.

My role as an Education Worker involved working with young people aged 8 - 18 years in deprived areas of London, encouraging them to consider University as an option. Responsibilities included managing a mentoring scheme, tutoring at academic support and designing and delivering workshops to primary and secondary students on topics such as Higher Education and confidence building.
