Andrew’s work draws from knowledge in computing, engineering, and commerce to drive the design and development of innovative and effective industrial systems and processes leading to digital transformation. Over the decades, Andrew has spearheaded numerous industry projects that have resulted in multi-million-dollar savings for his clients. His work has also been recognized through the numerous organizational, national, and international awards and innovation prizes that he has won. At present, Andrew is the director of the ASEAN Applied Research Centre, and also serves as the Chief Scientist and Technical Director of Red Jasper Holdings Pte Ltd, a boutique high-tech consultancy and incubator of deep tech products and services. Under his direction, Andrew has not only worked on interesting problems presented by industry networks, he has been instrumental in Red Jasper’s establishment of WiFreight Pte Ltd, a high-tech Freight Procurement Service Platform for MNC shippers, and Ascended Pte Ltd, a tech education portal. More recently, Andrew embarked on a groundbreaking project with Red Jasper’s incubation arm to develop “Algorithm and Data Exchange”, a marketplace where industry problems are solved securely, competitively and collaboratively.Aside from his extensive industrial experience, Andrew has held tenured full professorships in a number of top Universities in Asia. He is one of the most prominent researchers in the area of Transportation Research. He spent more than a decade in Hong Kong where he held professorships in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the City University of Hong Kong. Notably, in 2013, Andrew was recruited by Nanjing University under the prestigious Thousand Talents (中国千人计划) program that was launched by the Chinese government in 2008, and later in 2016, Andrew clinched the prestigious National Research Foundation's Returning Singaporean Scientists award – an exclusive award accorded to only six Singaporeans to date. During his tenure as a professor, Andrew was involved in numerous industry-linked research initiatives. While some of them involved big data analytics, digital twin, and digital transformation, others were concerned with demand generation and supply management problems in the domains of healthcare, logistics, and transportation.
