I led the Marketing and Communications team and helped FBV share its stories of food rescue, food insecurity and feeding vulnerable Victorians in times of need... most notably during the recent bushfires.Just weeks into the role, my journalism and storytelling expertise put FBV’s emergency food and water relief role on the media and social media radar here and abroad. Over the next three weeks, the power of good storytelling helped drive FBV’s organic social media engagement (reaching 205,000+ people in some posts), boost and sustain audience growth from an average 8,000 to 17,000+ on Facebook alone, and harnessed an incredible public outpouring of food donation generosity, which translated to around-the-clock media exposure across platforms and solid financial donations before formal fundraising campaigns kicked in.That response - by me and one direct report - led to a seat at the executive table for Marcomms.
