Alina received her Architecture Master degree from the Lusíada University in 2004, in Lisbon and began her professional career in rehabilitation of “Post-Pombalino” buildings in Lisbon City Hall where she supervised during the construction works of wattle and daub techniques and anti-seismic structures.Since 2007 she lived in Barcelona where she had the opportunity to work in small and large projects in several architecture studios such as Ramon Sanabria, Arturo Frediani, Josep Mias and AldayJover. During that time she began a research in sustainable architecture working in partnership with Paulo Carneiro. This collaboration is during several projects following sustainable design and principles and earth architecture technologies, which led her to enter in 2010 the post-master “Earth Architecture – Constructive Cultures and Sustainable Development” in CRATerre Institute, France. Alina collaborated with Paulo and “Architecture for Humanity” working in a small community in Manica, Mozambique, designing and engaging local communities in CEBS production to build a Community Center.This work had an impact on improving local construction techniques, following the direction of training communities for a low environmental impact. She presented her post-master report “The Kingdom of Manica – Improvement of local construction systems” which focused on vernacular and sustainable architecture in informal settlements in Mozambique and her collaboration with Architecture for Humanity.Alina returned to Portugal in 2013 and established with Paul Carneiro the Sustainable Architecture Collective CAS, a living architecture workshop studio working in strategy governed by sustainability concepts incorporating different arts and crafts, natural materials thinking in a “complete cycle work”.Find more:http://cas-at.com/
