Aline combines a strong analytics background with advanced mathematics/AI to manage an absolute return cross-commodities fund. She is Managing Partner and Founder of Frontier Commodities, which has achieved a 18% IRR and a 6.4x overperformance against the benchmark since inception, using half of the index’s volatility. Aline has conceptualized and developed Frontier Commodities’ unique “quantamental” trading style and volatility management systems. The strategy provides investors an enhanced return to risk exposure to themes as higher inflation, energy transition, geopolitical risk hedges, agriculture commodities volatility and carbon allowance market growth. Prior to Frontier, Aline worked at the World Bank -IFC where she managed a portfolio of investments in the manufacturing sector and executed several syndicated loan transactions related to IFC's energy efficiency and climate change mandate. She was also responsible to manage and report the development outcome of her portfolio at IFC.Before this, Aline was part of the ABN AMRO Equity Capital Markets team, where she executed several IPOs. Aline also worked on the treasury/ALM department as interest rates and liquidity risk modeler.She began her career at the Louis Dreyfus Group in Brazil, where she worked as an economist responsible for estimating commodities’ demand and modelling hedging risk.Aline holds BSc in Economics, a MS in Finance and Risk Management and a MBA from the IE Business School, graduated with honors. Finally, Aline is also the President and Board Member of the TG Foundation, who works to support women entrepreneurs in developing countries.
