At a turning point in my career, I have decided to turn my passion for teaching language into a new chapter. A liberating decision was starting as a freelance Business English Language Trainer. I am now open to new prospective clients seeking training in the fields of Business English, corporate communications and intercultural communications. Growing up as a third culture kid, I attended numerous international schools, each one with a different curriculum. Hence, I am well aware of the variety in educational systems an international school has to offer. In doing so, I have become a culture-savvy native English speaker, while being fluent in Dutch, French, and Korean.My teaching experience started well before my teacher training. I taught English at a language academy in South Korea for the first time in 2002, which ignited my passion for teaching English. Focusing on my business studies and later corporate jobs, I continued teaching English as a hobby. I was soon well known amongst the Korean community in Belgium and later in Dubai. Tutoring English to new students at the international school, interpreting teacher-parent meetings, and teaching basic conversation skills to Korean mothers were my proud achievements. Speaking Korean was my competitive advantage in bridging the culture gap and helping the integration process. I have taught Korean students for over 10 years, of all ages, levels, and for different needs – from basic conversation to business English. In the process, I have practiced different teaching styles and methods – be it 1:1, in-class, or online instruction, focusing on grammar, test preparation, reading comprehension, or basic conversation.In pursuit of mastering the Korean language, I majored in Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language in 2019. I have now acquired the academic background to teach a foreign language.
