I often ask myself, "What do I want to do when I grow up?" The answer is always the same - to help kids with education. That desire was borne out of my beliefs that education opens doors and should be available to all kids. They are what we make of them. Having spent over twenty years in Corporate America, I felt (back in 2011) that I possessed what it takes to own my own business and to turn that desire mentioned above into reality. Today, after almost 5 years in business, I know I made the right decision. Yes, there were and are many trials and errors. But nothing is more rewarding than knowing that I helped a child learn! They come in asking for math help, but they look for so much more - an empathetic ear, a friend, a guide,...So I challenge my instructors to put themselves in the shoes of a struggling kid, in the shoes of a parent who can barely afford my Program. With that sort of mentality, my team serves kids with care and urgency. By the way, not everyone can be instructors here. They all have to have the "right stuff", meaning a clean background check, an extremely high score on the instructor test, a love for kids,... The Mathnasium program aims to boost kids' math skills so they can be confident in school and in themselves. After a thorough assessment, we identify areas where the student needs the most help and create a personalized learning plan to address foundational gaps and assist him/her with homework and prepare for tests. We also organize fun math events for kids throughout the year and open to the community, so they learn the practical aspects of math while having fun with their peers. Our programs are suitable for all school-age children and our knowledgeable caring staff is dedicated to providing each child with the attention and support he/she needs. We also work with adults who long to improve their math skills in college and/or in transition to a more math-demanding career.
