I’ve worked with businesses across a range of industries: finance, retail, healthcare and professional services, as well as with government bodies on special project work. My experience covers both technical and strategic roles, as well as senior management, executive, advisory and governance positions. I looked after Icebreaker’s IT and systems across the globe. IT was a newly formed department, so I was responsible for developing the team; developing and implementing processes and procedures to formalise the department’s integration with the business; and monitoring and measuring benefits and improvements. Key accomplishments:• Conducted a detailed current and future technology state analysis and developing a technology roadmap.• Implemented platforms and solutions to address stringent business growth constraints. This included introducing enabling technologies such as a Retail Management System, retail to warehouse integration, e-commerce, a data-centre build and full infrastructure, network and applications deployment to support the global operations.• Developed the system architecture for the Baacode initiative - a world first traceability system that enables customers to trace their garments back through every step of the production process.Infrastructure replacement delivering a highly available and secure environment which took place ‘live’ with minimum disruption to 24/7 operations. -

Information Technology ManagerIogen Corporation Feb 2000 - Dec 2005Ottawa, CaIogen is a leading biotechnology company that develops clean burning, renewable cellulosic biofuels from agricultural residues and other organic wastes. Reporting to the CFO, I implemented technology solutions that allowed the organisation to transform and grow. Key accomplishments:• Developed solutions to help facilitate a multi-site company expansion, including one of Ottawa’s first IP Telephony sites, interconnecting remote users in six of Iogen’s buildings.• Worked with a select vendor to develop a real-time Voice Paging system in three days to replace an original application that had problems working at large scale.• Deployed VMware virtual servers and created standard virtual servers of all critical applications to be used as part of the Business Continuity Plan.• Transformed redundant capabilities to enhance systems reliability and availability, with regular testing to ensure operability, non-conformance reporting, and tracked and resolved impacting system issues.
